Hello, lovely readers and listeners! Welcome to another exciting season of the Viva la Mami podcast. I couldn’t be more thrilled for this new season. I am eager to share insightful resources and real stories that will inform and empower you, no matter which phase of motherhood you’re in.
If You Are a Returning Listener…
Thank you for joining me and tuning in once again for our fourth season. Your continuous support means the world to me. Thanks to you we have close to 5,000 downloads and it continues to grow!!
If You Are New to My Show…
Welcome! I hope you take the time to check out some of my previous episodes from seasons one, two, and three. Now, let me introduce myself if you’re not familiar with me yet. I am a proud mama of two boys and am currently in the thick of raising two toddlers, both under three. It is as chaotic and energetic as you might imagine, filled with many tears and sleepless nights, yet I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. In addition to being a mommy, I am also a wife and have been married to my high school sweetheart, Alex, for just over ten years. We live in our hometown, Chicago, in a multifamily home where we practice house hacking to save up for another house—a dream we have to build generational wealth.
What is Viva la Mami?
Viva la Mami is more than just a podcast; it is an online community aimed at empowering millennial Latina moms. It is a culturally relevant space where you can honor your cultural traditions while embracing modern parenting. My goal is for you to find balance between your identities and truly identify as a second-generation millennial mom. Being the daughter of first-generation immigrants, I have often battled with my identity and where I belong in certain spaces, including motherhood. Unfortunately, the representation of Latina moms is often riddled with negative stereotypes. This podcast is my effort to recreate a better version of Latina madrehood. We are not defined by outdated and harmful stereotypes; instead, we are empowered, loving, and complex individuals.
I’m Offering Three Types of Episodes
This season, I will continue to offer three different types of episodes:
- Solo Episodes – Sharing my day-to-day life, perspectives, and viewpoints.
- Expert Interviews – Latine professionals offering advice and tips so you can be better informed about parenting.
- Mami Guest Interviews – Raw and honest conversations from other Latina moms, allowing you to relate and empathize with their stories.
Community Building
My intention is for us to build a community where you won’t feel alone in your motherhood journey. Every story shared by a mommy makes someone else feel connected. By amplifying these voices, we ensure that no one feels isolated.
What to Expect This Season
I have a fantastic lineup of guests for you, covering a range of topics from the benefits of sleep training to raising biracial kids, and even how to overcome mom guilt. My hope is that one of these episodes truly resonates with you. If there is a specific topic you’d like me to cover, please shoot me an email at podcast@vivalamami.com or send me a DM on Instagram.
Let’s Stay Connected!
Thank you again for joining me this season. Feel free to connect with me on Instagram, and as always, please subscribe and share this podcast. Writing reviews on Apple Podcasts or Spotify helps other Latina mamis find this platform and redefine motherhood on their terms. You’re also welcome to subscribe to my newsletter below, where you’ll be the first to know about announcements, events, and my signature coaching program, Balanced Madrehood, starting again this fall.
Episodes will air every Thursday at 6:00 AM CST and you can listen on the VLM website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and wherever you listen to podcasts!
Thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s continue to build this beautiful and complex comunidad together.
About Jessica Cuevas

Jessica is the founder and creator of Viva la Mami, LLC a community centered around Latina motherhood. Jessica created this platform after not finding empowering stories about experiences of Latina moms. She realized that there was a lack of representation in this space and felt there was a need for mamis to share their stories and to learn more about the nuances about motherhood through a cultural lens.
Viva la Mami’s mission is to empower the modern Latina mom to redefine the meaning of madrehood through education, story-telling, and cultural relevance all while bringing comunidad together.
