¡Bienvenido!

I’m Jessica, a first-generation, bilingual, bicultural Latina mami.

I’m also a wife to my high school sweetheart. By trade, I am a college counselor where I work at a non-for-profit organization that supports under-resourced students through college.

I was born and raised in the city of Chicago, and currently reside in the southwest suburbs with my husband, Alex, our sons, Diego and Mateo, and tuxedo cat, Reina.

This platform was created after not finding stories of Latina women’s experiences as it related to pregnancy and motherhood overall. There is a lack of representation in this space and felt there was a need for mamis to share their stories and to learn more about the nuances about motherhood.

Viva la Mami is on a mission to redefine the meaning of madrehood by hearing from other Latina moms, learning from expert advice, and more.

I think we should celebrate each other’s accomplishments and failures through this overwhelming, fun, tiring and wonderful journey in motherhood. Viva la Mami was created to provide a space for mamis who are also going through all things related to pregnancy, madrehood, cultura, and lifestyle.

I’m thrilled to establish a platform that is dedicated to the celebration of motherhood and I thank you all so much for following VLM!
