Episode 48: Navigating the Mental Load of the Holidays

I decided to do a solo episode because it is the first week of December and I thought I would talk about the stress and the magic leading up toward Christmas as a mamá. I’m sure we can all relate to this and while this episode may be a venting session, I am going to share a couple tips on how we can all overcome the mental load of holidays as mamás.

In this episode, I reflect on the considerable amount of work moms take on during the holiday season to create joyous memories for their children, despite the immense mental load. From planning outfits and arranging decorations, to handling the logistical aspects of meal planning and gift shopping. It’s okay for moms to set boundaries, simplify or modify holiday traditions, decline invitations that add to stress, or delegate tasks to alleviate the mental pressure. Importantly, it’s necessary to communicate needs openly, be realistic, and to remember the ultimate goal is to create a joyful environment for the little ones.

Join me on this solo episode as I share my own experiences and urge moms to prioritize their happiness and well-being. This episode will leave you empowered to redefine holiday expectations and to focus on creating joyful connections rather than striving for perfection. The goal is to enjoy the holiday season and make it a memorable time for their families.

On this Episode, You’ll Hear:

  • The mental load of the holidays as a mom
  • Tips to overcome the mental load
